For over 30 years, the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) has worked with communities across Toronto to create a green, healthy and equitable city. We do this through advocacy, research, and innovative community projects.

TEA is registered as a non-profit to give us greater freedom in achieving our mission of building a greener, more equitable city for all. This means that donations are not tax-receiptable.

TEA spends approximately 70% on programs (including campaigns and advocacy, research and community-based projects), 19% on fundraising and 11% on administrative costs.

TEA receives some grants for specific projects and initiatives, but we rely on donations from people just like you to support our work building a greener, healthier, more equitable city for all. You can learn more about supporting TEA’s work here.

TEA receives funds from three main sources: donations from individuals, grants and sponsorships. Read more about our donors and funders.

Signing up to be a monthly donor is easy. You can sign up online today, call our office or mail in your donation. To start a monthly donation or to update or cancel, please contact us:

You are in control of your monthly donations - you are able to increase, decrease, cancel or put your donation on hold at any time

A great way to reach local residents is in meeting them in their community. That’s why TEA canvasses door-to-door in neighbourhoods across Toronto to speak to residents about environmental issues that matter to them and to build support for our local work. What better way to talk about what’s going on in your community than to be in your community?

Through tens of thousands of conversations every year, we raise financial support and build champions for our work across this city to make environmental issues a priority at City Hall. And remember, we don’t just knock on your door, we knock on City Hall doors too!

TEA focuses on local environmental issues and solutions and we advocate alongside 

Toronto communities for a green, healthy and equitable city. We rely on your support and donations to help us work with communities in all corners of the city and act as an environmental watchdog at City Hall. By donating to TEA, you are supporting action right in your community.

TEA is very grateful to accept donations raised from community events such as yard and bake sales. As a small non-profit we have limited resources and materials for such events, but the support is very much appreciated.

Individuals can support TEA by:

• Sponsoring a TEA fundraising events. TEA only accepts support from donors (individuals, organizations, businesses or  institutions) only for activities that are consistent with its mission.
• Create a community fundraising event (with donations directed to TEA).
